Introduction
The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aims to prevent products linked to deforestation from being placed on the EU market.
Scope
EUDR applies to:
- Wood and wood products
- Rubber
- Leather
- Chocolate
- Coffee
- Palm oil
Key Dates
- Regulation adopted: June 29, 2023
- Application: December 30, 2024
- Transition period: until June 30, 2025
Key Requirements
- First rule: No products from land deforested after December 31, 2020
- Second rule: Products must not be from degraded forest land
- Due Diligence System: Mandatory for all operators
